ABOUT MAGEN RODRIGUEZ

Teaching and Transformation

With a passion for education and a focus on social change, Magen is a district-level ML/ELL Instructional Administrator for New York City Public schools. She is a dual-tenured Language Teacher with the NYC Department of Education teaching grades K-12. She has become an integral part of her school community as a teacher-leader and advocate for equity in schools. She has presented at numerous conferences intermingling her research and practice in pedagogy and social impact. She enjoys working with groups of all ages including young people and adults.


Magen has acquired multiple degrees and awards in education. She earned her Masters of Science degree in Educational Leadership in 2018 at Brooklyn College. She also graduated with joint-Masters of Arts degrees at NYU Steinhardt - NYU Madrid in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL) AND Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language in 2014. Magen holds Bachelors of the Arts degrees in Metropolitan Studies and Spanish & Latin American Literature & Cultures from New York University. She is a teacher fellow at Understood x Blue Engine (UxBE), a teacher fellow at the NYU Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, an Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) scholar, and a Benjamin A. Gilman Scholar.
